What we collect, and why

The short version: no cookies, no ad tracking, and we never sell anything you give us. Here's the detail.

Analytics

We use PostHog to see which pages are read and how people use the free AI audit. It runs in cookieless mode: nothing is stored in your browser, and visitors are counted with an anonymous, privacy-preserving hash generated on PostHog's servers instead of a cookie. PostHog records the pages you view, the page that sent you here, your browser and device type, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. It may also make an anonymized recording of how a page was used, with everything typed into forms masked.

Forms

When you ask a question or tell us about your site, your message and email address go to Bowst through Netlify Forms. We use them to reply, and the best questions may become articles, without your name or company unless you say yes.

The newsletter

If you subscribe to the What Now digest, your email address is held by Kit, our newsletter provider, and used only to send the digest. Kit asks you to confirm your address first, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

The free AI audit

The audit fetches the public website you enter, the way a search crawler would. We store the report so its link keeps working and so repeat checks of the same site within a day are instant. The domain you enter is sent to DataForSEO to look up AI citation data, and to Is Agentic and Ora to look up existing scores. Only enter sites you're comfortable having checked; reports describe public pages, not you.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability.

Questions or deletion requests

Email hello@bowst.com and a person at Bowst will help, including deleting anything you've sent us.
